Elizabethwasexcessivelydisappointed;shehadsetherheartonseeingtheLakes，andstillthoughttheremighthavebeentimeenough.Butitwasherbusinesstobesatisfied—andcertainlyhertempertobehappy;andallwassoonrightagain.

TheGardinersstayedonlyonenightatLongbourn，andsetoffthenextmorningwithElizabethinpursuitofnoveltyandamusement.Oneenjoymentwascertain—thatofsuitablenessofcompanions;asuitablenesswhichcomprehendedhealthandtempertobearinconveniences—cheerfulnesstoenhanceeverypleasure—andaffectionandintelligence，whichmightsupplyitamongthemselvesifthereweredisappointmentsabroad.

Mrs.Gardinerabusedherstupidity.“Ifitweremerelyafinehouserichlyfurnished，”
